The League of Women Voters of the Plattsburgh Area will be holding its initial session of a Study Group on Hydrofracking. The Group will meet on Tuesday, February 7^th at 1:30 pm in the Plattsburgh Senior Center Board Room. The Group will be studying the pros and cons of hydrofracking. All are welcome to participate.

Ingeborg Sapp will present an oral account of her eventful life from Nazism and war, to occupation and communism, and finally her illegal escape to freedom. This is an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of family life during the WWII Era from the perspective of a German child, who grew up through the war and the following years of upheaval and resettlement. The presentation and discussion are open to the public . I encourage you to seek out a friend, listen to Inge’s amazing life story, Find out, first hand, about the things you have only read in books. Ask questions of one of the few people who are able to recount these stories.

The Search for Meaning Adult RE Discussion Group continues to meet on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:15pm at 4 Palmer St. Starting this week, January 31st the group will be listening to an audio books by Eckhart Tolle: "Living the Liberated Life and Dealing with the Pain-Body." Our series will start some time in March when we have decided to read and discuss the book, "Wherever You Go There You Are" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Each session includes a brief opening ritual with a reading and short meditation followed by time for listening to tapes or reading aloud from a the book and group discussion.
